technical illustration
The samples here were produced using a range of techniques. For example, the black and white turbocharger exploded views were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, from actual objects. In this case, some engineering research was required before the illustration was even started.

The "technical comps" were drawn, again, from actual objects, this time directly into Photoshop. The more complex "FM1500" illustration, together with its "sister" machine (the bi-chlor image), were painstakingly drawn from rough, unfinished CAD plans.

Tremendous accuracy comes as standard for these illustrations no matter what drawing application is used.
