recent work
photoshop
We've been using Photoshop here since it was a baby.... since it was called 'Adobe Photomarketstall 1.0', back in the days when it was still in black and white! Over the ensuing years we've developed a unique style in the application, using 'old fashioned' drawing board experience in the production of accurate, highly detailed illustrations. Using 3D software is obviously a superb, flexible and convenient way of producing top quality illustrations, but learning how to illustrate the 'hard way' as it were, that is on drawing boards, utilising three point measured perspective and various technical illustration techniques gives us an advantage with regard to what looks 'right'.

At 2cheeseburgers, we are proud of our ability to produce highly detailed, photo-realistic digital illustration, whether entirely drawn from scratch in Photoshop from actual objects or plans, photographic or scanned reference, or a brief sketched drunkenly on the back of a shredded beermat!

3d modelling
At 2cheeseburgers we are developing a service where we can illustrate conference venues and exhibition stands using 3D modelling software.

We also of course, use 3d software for purely illustrative purposes too. The images on the right show some examples of product visualisation, medical and even fantasy illustration.

Producing 3D modelled illustrations can be quite straightforward at times, but when combining the modelling techniques with a high level of skill in Photoshop and a highly trained eye for good usage of light and shade, we can produce even better results than purely with 3D software.

technical illustration
The samples here were produced on a Mac, in various ways. For example, the black and white turbocharger exploded views were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, from actual objects. Drawing them was one thing, putting the parts back together was another! As I'm sure you can see, some engineering knowledge is required to even attempt this kind of illustration.

The 'technical comps' were drawn, once again, from actual objects sat on the desk (I left out the oily mess on the desktop..) .... this time directly into Photoshop. And as for the slightly more daunting 'FM1500' illustration, well this together with its 'sister' machine (bi-chlor image), were painstakingly drawn in Photoshop (simply with paths, fills, blends etc) from rough, unfinished CAD plans.

A high level of accuracy is obviously needed for any such undertaking, no matter what drawing application is used.

graphic design
We have an ever-increasing portfolio of design samples. From full colour, 16 page brochures to single A4 black and white 'Northern Soul' music event flyers....... from 2 metre high full colour exhibition panels to 80mm wide business cards........ from complete corporate identities involving letterheads, business cards, continuatia, A4 folders with pockets, A1 posters to single video covers..... from cd sleeves to 1 metre presentation boards.

We are happy to take a project from initial brief, through conceptualisation stages, right through to organising print if required.

We work closely with a good quality, trusted print company in Manchester, so that nothing is left to chance.

retouching
At 2cheeseburgers a high level of retouching skill goes 'hand in hand' with our expertise in Photoshop. We offer a retouching service encompassing all types of work, from repairing a damaged family photograph to producing a complex, high resolution, detailed digital illustration-retouch.
